A \u201cgood catch\u201d is a potential error that\u00a0<strong>never<\/strong>\u00a0reaches the patient because of identification by a\u00a0team\u00a0member. These can often be referred to as a near miss. These events are often the key to identifying system and process issues before errors have a chance to harm a patient, visitor, or team member.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to our winners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Q3: Shaye Springle-Deopp, RN, TSCU,<\/strong>\u00a0who ensured a suicidal patient received a needed crisis evaluation.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pulse-plus.cooperhealth.edu\/member\/post\/q3-good-catch-nominee-shaye-springle-deopp-rn\/f13798d4-68b3-4b23-9610-94668713f438\"><strong>Click\u00a0here<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to hear their story.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Q4: Nigel Trudge, CST, Operating Room,<\/strong>\u00a0who noticed a \u201cnot sterile\u201d sign on an instrument before it contaminated an entire procedure set-up.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pulse-plus.cooperhealth.edu\/member\/post\/q4-good-catch-nominee-nigel-trudge-cst\/33fbc93f-cdd2-4001-874c-9894801fbcfc\"><strong>Click here<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to hear their story.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have you had a good catch moment? You can vote for your favorite candidate on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pulse-plus.cooperhealth.edu\/member\/\">Pulse+<\/a>. Good Catch winners receive $100 and use of the Good Catch parking space in the CCIA garage for three months. All who vote are entered to win Pulse+ swag.
