{"id":23941,"date":"2025-04-29T16:06:39","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T20:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/?p=23941"},"modified":"2025-04-29T17:13:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T21:13:01","slug":"flu-season-at-cooper-officially-ends-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/2025\/04\/flu-season-at-cooper-officially-ends-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Flu Season at Cooper Officially Ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a result of surveillance activities conducted by the\u00a0NJDOH and the CDC, and the very few Cooper patients infected with influenza at all locations, our Infection Prevention teams have\u00a0declared <strong>Wednesday,<\/strong> <strong>April 30, 2025<\/strong>, as the end of the 2024\/2025 influenza season for our health system.<\/p>\n<p>The end of flu season means that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The current influenza vaccine will no longer be offered to patients or team members until the new vaccine is available in the fall for the 2025-2026 flu season.<\/li>\n<li>Any team member who has not received an influenza vaccination is no longer required to wear a surgical or procedural mask when in direct contact with patients and in common areas of clinical buildings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Team members, visitors, and patients at all Cooper patient care locations <strong>must<\/strong> abide by whatever current masking policy is in effect.<\/p>\n<p>Universal masking may continue to be enforced in specific units or as otherwise indicated by Infection Prevention.
