Cooper recently\u00a0hosted a two-day industry training program, welcoming surgeons from across the region to learn an investigational nerve repair technique that we believe could become the standard of care within the next decade. Neuroadaptive therapy for orthopaedic patients\u00a0focuses on retraining the nervous system to improve movement, reduce pain, and enhance recovery from injuries or conditions by addressing the root cause of musculoskeletal problems by optimizing how the brain and body communicate.<\/p>\n

For the past three years, Cooper\u2019s Orthopaedic Surgery team has led basic science research on this approach, and is now taking the next big step: helping to launch two human trials, one industry-sponsored and one Department of Defense-sponsored, to continue to strive to provide the best outcomes possible for our patients with these challenging injuries.<\/p>\n
