Fundamentals in Insulin Therapy Program<\/strong>
\nIf your patient is on insulin, there is a good chance they are not taking insulin properly. The Diabetes Educators of Camden are committed to giving every patient in the community skills needed to take insulin properly.<\/p>\n

Pregnancy for Women With Diabetes Program<\/strong>
\nDiabetes can be especially hard on women who are pregnant. The burden of diabetes on women is unique because the disease can affect both the mother and their unborn child. In this workshop you will:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Review the various types of diabetes and their impact on maternal\/fetal outcomes.
\n\u2022 Discuss guidelines for screening for diabetes in pregnancy.
\n\u2022 Summarize the principles of preconception care in women with preexisting diabetes.
\n\u2022 Describe the management of preexisting diabetes and GDM.

There is no cost to attend this workshop, but registration is required. All participants will earn three CEUs.<\/p>\n

\n10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Pregnancy for Women With Diabetes

Speaker:<\/strong> Samuel Grossman, BS, PharmD, CDE, is a Patient Aligned Care Pharmacist and a diabetes educator at the Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Health Care System. He also serves as the president and clinical coordinator of Diabetes Care On-The-Go Inc., a diabetes consulting center that serves patients and health care professionals of NY and NJ. Dr. Grossman served as the corporate chair of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) NJ Coordinating. He is the recipient of the 2012 Diabetes Educator of the Year award from the AADE NJ coordinating body for work done to promote diabetes awareness in the community, and the recipient of the 2013 Specialty Pharmacists of the Year Award as part of the Next Generation Pharmacists award programs. Dr. Grossman is a member of the Chronic Disease Advisory Board to the Commissioner of Health and Senior Services of the state of NJ. In addition, he is the advocacy chair and a member of the NJ Community Leadership Board for the American Diabetes Association.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
