Cooper is launching a program to train veterans who will in turn be training their fellow veterans on strategies and techniques for improved health and lifestyle. During the Peer Leader Training Program, veterans will learn how to motivate and empower their fellow veterans who may have chronic conditions such as PTSD, diabetes, pain, and arthritis. No previous health care training or leadership experience is required.<\/p>\n

In four sessions, peer leaders will be trained to teach skills for a healthy lifestyle, such as:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Healthy eating and exercise.
\n\u2022 Managing pain, fatigue, frustration, and medications.
\n\u2022 Communicating with health care professionals, family, and friends.
\n\u2022 Making decisions about treatments.
\n\u2022 Problem solving.<\/p>\n

Please share this information with veterans who may have a desire to help their peers.<\/p>\n
