Stroke is the number five cause of death and the leading cause of adult disability in the United States. The faster stroke victims are treated, the less damage to the brain. Patients suffering from symptoms of acute stroke should be evaluated by a physician within 10 minutes of arrival to an emergency department. Treatment \u2013 either clot-busting medication or neurointerventional surgery \u2013 should be initiated within one hour. When it comes to knowing the stroke warning signs \u2013 to help expedite the treatment process \u2013 only about two out of three Americans can correctly identify at least one sign.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper Neurological Institute wants everyone to learn how to recognize the signs of a stroke, because Time is Brain.
