Fox, MD, Director of the Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, created a public service announcement (PSA) on keeping your children safe as you travel this summer. In 2015, 16 percent of the children treated in our Trauma Department were victims of motor vehicle accidents. Of those, 32 percent were injured because they were unrestrained in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>To have your children\u2019s car seats checked or if you have questions on car seat safety, please reach out to Maureen Donnelly, RN, MSN, NPC, Coordinator of Safe Kids Southern NJ, at 856.968.8687 or email safekids@cooperhealth.edu. There are also several Safe Kids Car Seat Check-Ups scheduled throughout the rest of this year in the community.
