\"adrienneWR\"Cooper University Health Care was honored as New Jersey\u2019s \u201cHospital of the Year\u201d at the 2016 Healthcare Heroes Awards held in Somerset, NJ. Sponsored by NJBIZ, New Jersey\u2019s leading business journal, the program honors individuals and organizations that are making a significant impact on the quality of health care in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Cooper was selected over a field of other strong contenders for expanding services to the community, improving access to the highest level of care, and for the positive impact of the MD Anderson Cancer Center partnership.<\/p>\n

In 2015, Cooper provided quality health care to a growing number of patients. Cooper and its physicians handled more than 1.3 million patient visits in 2015, one of the only health systems in South Jersey to experience growth in inpatient and outpatient volume. Its 635-bed, tertiary-care hospital is South Jersey\u2019s only Level 1 Trauma Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper experienced more than a 20-percent increase in patient volume over 2014. Cooper \u2013 through its strategic partnership with the top cancer center in the nation \u2013 is helping more New Jersey cancer patients choose to stay in the Garden State for first-rate cancer care. Women in the region also have access to the latest innovative care and breast cancer specialists at the Janet Knowles Breast Cancer Center<\/a> that opened in 2015.<\/p>\n

For 128 years, Cooper has been a trusted health care leader for the people of the South Jersey region. The growth in the number of patients visiting Cooper, based upon this longstanding trust as well as the expansion of services, resulted in 2015 being Cooper’s best year ever with revenues exceeding $1 billion for the first time in the organization’s history.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
