You can be one of those people! Please join Team Cooper at this year&#8217;s event.<\/p>\n<p>Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which a person\u2019s pancreas loses the ability to produce insulin \u2013 a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. With T1D, there are no days off, and there is no cure \u2013 yet.
