The Ripa Center for Women\u2019s Health and Wellness at Cooper<\/a> is excited to announce that 3D mammography, also known as breast tomosynthesis, is now available to better meet women\u2019s imaging needs. A screening mammogram is an X-ray of the breast that is used to detect signs of breast cancer.<\/p>\n

This newer method of mammography produces numerous images at different angles to create a three-dimensional picture. Images that are 3D allow physicians to see breast tissues more clearly, and are often recommended for women who have dense breasts.<\/p>\n

At The Ripa Center, Sensory Suite technology is employed during mammograms to create a spa-like atmosphere and engage the senses with aromatherapy, calming visuals, and soothing sounds. The Ripa Center has also been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, in addition to all of Cooper\u2019s Breast Imaging Centers.<\/p>\n
