Employees throughout Cooper are encouraged to wear blue that day to show their support and raise awareness about colorectal cancer screening.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. when men and women are combined, and a cause of considerable suffering among nearly 135,000 adults diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year.<\/li>\n<li>When adults get screened for colorectal cancer, it can be detected early at a stage when treatment is most likely to be successful, and, in some cases, it can be prevented through the detection and removal of precancerous polyps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Join us in spreading the word about the importance of colorectal cancer screenings by sending pictures of yourself, your coworkers, or your entire unit or department proudly wearing blue.<\/strong> Photographs can be emailed to <a href=\"mailto:marketing@cooperhealth.org\">marketing@cooperhealth.org<\/a> and may be used on Cooper\u2019s website, social media sites, and various publications.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital will mark National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month (March) with blue lights outside of One Cooper Plaza and in the Roberts Pavilion lobby.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, March 6, 2017, Cooper will recognize Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
