Sepsis is the body\u2019s overwhelming and life-threatening response to infection. It is treatable, especially with early recognition and care. Every two minutes someone dies from sepsis in the U.S. \u2013 that\u2019s more than from prostate cancer, breast cancer, and AIDS combined.\u00a0 Events are being held around the world throughout the month of September to educate the public and health care providers about the incidence, severity, and outcomes of sepsis patients.
