{"id":6268,"date":"2017-11-28T15:54:07","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T20:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/?p=6268"},"modified":"2017-11-28T16:46:01","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T21:46:01","slug":"a-poem-for-decorating-safely-at-cooper-during-the-holidays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/2017\/11\/a-poem-for-decorating-safely-at-cooper-during-the-holidays\/","title":{"rendered":"A Poem for: Decorating Safely at Cooper During the Holidays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\">All the departments throughout the hospital<br \/>\nLiked the Holiday Season a lot \u2026<br \/>\nBut the EOC Committee (it seemed)<br \/>\nFor some reason did not!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The Committee was nervous<br \/>\nRealizing the Holiday Season was here,<br \/>\nAnd let\u2019s not forget \u2013 regulatory agencies are always near.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">While departments are decorating and decking their halls<br \/>\nPutting up trees and wrapping the walls<br \/>\nThe Committee knew it was the time to send out the information this year<br \/>\nSo, the Committee set up guidelines to which all departments must adhere<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">All artificial decorations, including wreaths and trees<br \/>\nmust be made out of non-combustible materials<br \/>\nAnd proof of flammability rating we must see<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">No decorations can be hung or strung from fire sprinklers, ceilings or lights<br \/>\nAll electrical decorations or string lights are just NOT permitted<br \/>\nIt is even stated that one cannot be committed<br \/>\nTo decorating a large area or space<br \/>\nWith wrapping paper used to grace<br \/>\nAnd cover the walls, deck the columns, wrap desks or floors<br \/>\nAnd don\u2019t even think of covering the Code Red Barrier Doors<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Last but not least all decorations and\/or trees<br \/>\nShould not be placed in corridors, landings or near these:<br \/>\nOxygen valves, circuit boxes, informational signs, areas of EXIT keep free,<br \/>\nFrom covering as well as the fire extinguishers, blocked they should never be!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Wait!\u00a0 There is one more thing to hold dear.<br \/>\nOur decorations should not interrupt<br \/>\nThe quality of patient care<br \/>\nFor that is why we are all here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The moral of the story is the EOC Committee does like the Season<br \/>\nBut what they do, they do for a reason<br \/>\nKeeping everyone and the building safe<br \/>\nIs a duty this Committee must face.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have a Safe, Healthy, and Happy Holiday Season!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Questions?
