All the departments throughout the hospital
\nLiked the Holiday Season a lot \u2026
\nBut the EOC Committee (it seemed)
\nFor some reason did not!<\/p>\n
The Committee was nervous
\nRealizing the Holiday Season was here,
\nAnd let\u2019s not forget \u2013 regulatory agencies are always near.<\/p>\n
While departments are decorating and decking their halls
\nPutting up trees and wrapping the walls
\nThe Committee knew it was the time to send out the information this year
\nSo, the Committee set up guidelines to which all departments must adhere<\/p>\n
All artificial decorations, including wreaths and trees
\nmust be made out of non-combustible materials
\nAnd proof of flammability rating we must see<\/p>\n
No decorations can be hung or strung from fire sprinklers, ceilings or lights
\nAll electrical decorations or string lights are just NOT permitted
\nIt is even stated that one cannot be committed
\nTo decorating a large area or space
\nWith wrapping paper used to grace
\nAnd cover the walls, deck the columns, wrap desks or floors
\nAnd don\u2019t even think of covering the Code Red Barrier Doors<\/p>\n
Last but not least all decorations and\/or trees
\nShould not be placed in corridors, landings or near these:
\nOxygen valves, circuit boxes, informational signs, areas of EXIT keep free,
\nFrom covering as well as the fire extinguishers, blocked they should never be!<\/p>\n
Wait!\u00a0 There is one more thing to hold dear.
\nOur decorations should not interrupt
\nThe quality of patient care
\nFor that is why we are all here.<\/p>\n
The moral of the story is the EOC Committee does like the Season
\nBut what they do, they do for a reason
\nKeeping everyone and the building safe
\nIs a duty this Committee must face.<\/p>\n
