Cooper employees are encouraged to wear blue that day, including blue scrub tops, to show their support and raise awareness about colorectal cancer screening. At One Cooper Plaza, the hospital will be lit with blue lights outside, and also in the Roberts Pavilion lobby.<\/p>\n<p>Share pictures of yourself, your coworkers, and your unit proudly wearing blue<strong>!<\/strong> Photographs can be emailed to <a href=\"mailto:marketing@cooperhealth.org\">marketing@cooperhealth.org<\/a> or shared on social media with the hashtag <strong>#GOBLUENJ<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colon Cancer Screening Saves Lives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are partnering with other organizations across the state on the GO BLUE NJ effort to increase awareness of colorectal cancer screening and prevention.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nearly 135,000 adults are diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year; colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. when men and women are combined.<\/li>\n<li>Screening can help detect colorectal cancer at an early stage when treatment is most likely to be successful. In some cases, colorectal cancer can be prevented completely through the detection and removal of precancerous polyps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>~*~<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6701 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/files\/2018\/02\/GoBlueNJ.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"143\" height=\"69\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Join us in spreading the word about the importance of colorectal cancer screenings by adding the GO BLUE NJ image to your email signature for the month of March. To add the image to your signature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Save the image to your desktop or any file you prefer.<\/li>\n<li>Open a new email in Outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the signature icon in your toolbar at the top of the message.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Signatures.<\/li>\n<li>Place the cursor beneath your email signature and click on the image icon (top right).<\/li>\n<li>Browse to the saved image and click Insert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>~*~<br \/>\n<\/strong>If you are age 50 or older and at normal risk, schedule your colon cancer screening today.
