This new structure will position Cooper well to accomplish the Board\u2019s direction to enhance overall clinical and business operations, as well as to\u00a0continue to develop strong growth strategies to succeed in the dynamically changing health care market.<\/p>\n<p>The new structure being rolled out today is attached and organizes the clinical and business functions under the two co-presidents as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kevin O\u2019Dowd has retained his current areas of responsibility and will add Gary Lesneski, Brian Reilly, Kevin O\u2019Leary and Jay Raman who lead business functions, to his team.<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Mazzarelli has retained his current areas of responsibility and will add Stephanie Conners, Terry Ricca, and Christine Winn, who lead clinical functions, to his team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kevin O\u2019Dowd and Dr. Mazzarelli, who will continue to report to me, have also made changes within their existing organizational structures to better align their teams and allow them to focus on the their broader areas of responsibility. The following changes have been made under Kevin O\u2019Dowd\u2019s chain of command:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Louis Bezich, SVP of Strategic Alliances, will now have Anthony Welch, VP of Government Relations and Andy Bush, VP of Real Estate reporting directly to him<\/li>\n<li>Thomas Rubino will assume the role of SVP of Communications and Marketing, and will now have Jill Lawlor, VP of Marketing, reporting directly to him<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following changes have been made within Dr. Mazzarelli\u2019s chain of command:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. Eric Kupersmith will assume the role of SVP and Chief Physician Executive<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Joseph Montella will assume the title of Chief Medical Officer (CMO)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please join me in congratulating Mazz and Kevin as well as the others assuming new roles at this time. Together, we have had tremendous success. This is evident by our growth and the fact that more people than ever are choosing Cooper for their health care needs.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by our Board Chair yesterday in his employee communication, the Board has tasked Kevin, Mazz, and I with developing a new three to five year strategic plan for the organization which will be presented to the Board in May and communicated across the organization in June.\u00a0 That plan will include additional organizational changes based upon the strategies approved by the Board. \u00a0I am confident that our new strategic plan and associated organizational structure will serve us well in meeting the challenges facing our industry and allow Cooper to continue to grow and thrive in a highly competitive market.<\/p>\n<p>I want to thank you for continuing to put our patients and their families first.
