To meet the growth in the number of patients seeking surgery,\u00a0Cooper opened eight new operating rooms yesterday on the second floor of the Roberts Pavilion, increasing the total number of operating rooms system-wide to 38.<\/p>\n

As a leading academic, tertiary care health system with the region\u2019s only Level 1 Trauma Center, demand for services at Cooper has grown over the past six years, particularly in the area of surgical services at our Camden and Voorhees surgical centers.\u00a0The number of surgeries at Cooper system-wide has grown from 14,737 procedures in 2011 to 21,890 in 2017, an increase of 49 percent.<\/p>\n
