Situation:<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Paving operations on Newton Ave.<\/p>\n

Background:<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Improvements in and around the Newton Ave area, (as well as throughout the City), have included upgrades to PSE&G and other infrastructure that have required the repaving of the affected streets and roadways.<\/p>\n

Assessment:<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Roadway restoration is scheduled to begin the Monday on Newton Ave.\u00a0 It is expected to continue through the week of May 21, 2018. This will have impact on traffic patterns at times in and around MLK in the area of I-76 off ramps, South 10th, South 11th, etc.\u00a0 Repaving is expected to occur from at least Haddon to where Newton Ave., enters the AWB.<\/p>\n

Response:<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Traffic flow, especially at prime time rush hours during the AM and PM commute, \u00a0will experience longer queuing in bound to the hospital campus. \u00a0For those who use Newton Ave to access the Admiral Wilson Blvd-Westbound consider alternate routes such as Flanders Ave or Haddon Ave. to Cooper St.\u00a0 Metro PD will have traffic units assigned to provide direction during the work.<\/p>\n

Letter to Residents:<\/h2>\n

PSE&G has completed the gas main upgrades in your neighborhood. Now that the ground has settled, we are returning to restore roads with permanent paving.<\/p>\n

We will be milling and paving the roads listed on the back of the letter. The milling and paving activities will occur during daytime hours between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Work is scheduled to begin approximately the week of May 14, 2018 weather permitting. Please pay attention and abide by all emergency no parking signs as they will be posted 24 hours before work is scheduled to begin on each street.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our goal is to complete this work with minimal impact to your business and customers. Police will be directing traffic, and residents will be able to drive on the roads during non-paving hours.<\/p>\n
