Priscilla J. Peters, BA, RDCS, FASE<\/p><\/div>\n

The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) recently awarded Cooper University Health Care employee Priscilla J. Peters, BA, RDCS, FASE, with the Cardiovascular Sonographer Distinguished Teacher Award. This prestigious national recognition is awarded to a sonographer instructor who is attentive to cardiovascular sonography professional values and who exhibits values of leadership and dedication to the field of echocardiography.<\/p>\n

Peters, an educator and clinical specialist in Cooper\u2019s Echocardiology Department and an assistant professor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU), has been with Cooper since 2004. She is the only non-physician, non-philosophy doctor to hold a faculty appointment with CMSRU. She is extensively published in a wide range of professional journals and text books, and has a passion for improving the practice of echocardiography. To this end, Peters has organized three regional courses in congenital heart disease in adults and children.<\/p>\n

The criteria of winning this award are stringent and include demonstrating teaching expertise in cardiovascular ultrasounds, acting as a mentor for students, and serving as a role model for the industry as whole.<\/p>\n
