The power plant will connect to all Cooper buildings located on the Health Sciences Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The project is continuing in phases that will result in periodic road closures and traffic pattern changes in the area around Cooper\u2019s Emergency Department. All hospital services will remain open and available during these temporary road closures; however, they may affect commute times to and from the hospital. Please expect delays and plan accordingly.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the latest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, August 29 through August 31, 2018: Benson Street Closed Between 7<sup>th<\/sup> &amp; 6<sup>th<\/sup> Streets From 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Benson Street will be closed between 7<sup>th<\/sup> &amp; 6<sup>th<\/sup> streets to <u>through<\/u> traffic, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.<\/li>\n<li>One-way traffic westbound from 7<sup>th<\/sup> to Broadway will be permitted 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning.<\/li>\n<li>Pedestrians will have access to the sidewalk on the south side of Benson Street.<\/li>\n<li>Emergency vehicle access to the Emergency Department <strong>will not<\/strong> be interrupted during this period.<\/li>\n<li>Shuttle service will continue at Kelemen Circle, but private vehicles are not permitted for drop-off\/pick-up.<\/li>\n<li>Benson Street entrance to parking garage will be accessible via detour route (see below). Stevens Street entrance will be open as normal.<\/li>\n<li>Exiting CCIA garage from Benson Street side will require right turn (toward Broadway); no left turn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Labor Day Weekend<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Benson Street will resume normal traffic from Friday, August 31, 2018 at 4 p.m. through Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 6 a.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 4 through September 14, 2018:\u00a0 Benson Street Temporarily One Way <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2018, Benson Street resumes one-way westbound from 7th to Broadway.<\/li>\n<li>Emergency vehicle access to the Emergency Department <strong>will not<\/strong> be interrupted during this period.<\/li>\n<li>Shuttle service will continue at Kelemen Circle, but private vehicles are not permitted for drop-off\/pick-up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Camden County Metro Police, Camden County Sheriff\u2019s Department, and Cooper Security will assist with traffic control and navigation during construction.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your cooperation as we improve our facilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7818 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/files\/2018\/08\/MAP-300x176.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"564\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/files\/2018\/08\/MAP-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/files\/2018\/08\/MAP.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 564px) 100vw, 564px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Construction is continuing on the new power plant that will provide Cooper with efficient power and the ability to provide power during emergency outages.
