As South Jersey\u2019s only Level 1 Trauma Center, Cooper University Health Care\u2019s helipad receives a significant amount of flight traffic. As a result of its age and heavy traffic, the helipad needs to be replaced. Construction will to replace Cooper\u2019s helipad will begin today,\u00a0Tuesday, October 16, 2018<\/strong>, and will last through mid-December 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During construction, the helipad will be closed to helicopter flight traffic. Helicopters will use our secondary landing pad on the Campbell Soup campus and will be met by Cooper-staffed ambulances for the short transfer to the hospital.\u00a0This diversion should not<\/strong> impact the Transfer Center or our trauma, critical care, or emergency services.<\/p>\n As a result of this construction work on the helipad, there may be some temporary street closures and traffic diversions around the Cooper campus.
