The Chairman of the Cooper Board of Trustees, George E. Norcross III, announced that The Cooper Foundation raised $2.2 million at its ninth annual Red Hot Gala. This year\u2019s proceeds support Cooper University Health Care\u2019s commitment to improving the quality of life in the community and providing exceptional medical care and services for patients.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the leading academic health system in South Jersey, Cooper is committed to providing advanced medical care and ensuring that our neighbors have access to wellness services,\u201d said Norcross. \u201cI am grateful for the continued support that will advance patient care, education, and community programs, and fund research that leads to better treatments and cures.\u201d<\/p>\n
Norcross hosted the Gala with Philip A. Norcross, Chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees. Held at Vie in Philadelphia, this year\u2019s event honored Cooper University Health Care Co-Presidents Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, and Kevin M. O\u2019Dowd, JD.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to thank all of our friends and supporters of the Red Hot Gala; your generosity will support our growth as a leading academic health system in the region providing the highest level of clinical care for our patients,\u201d said Mazzarelli.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful to all who supported this event and recognize the great work Cooper\u2019s physicians, nurses, and health care professionals do for the more than 1.6 million patients who trust us for their health care each year,\u201d said O\u2019Dowd.<\/p>\n
More than 900 people attended the 2019 Cooper Red Hot Gala, one of the largest charitable fundraisers in the region, raising a total of $14.3 million since 2011.<\/p>\n
New this year was a musical program featuring a variety of musical genres:\u00a0first, live jazz from Jimmy Quaile & Friends, then Beethoven met Bruno Mars as the Philadelphia String Quartet wowed the crowd, the B-Street Band, a salute to Bruce Springsteen, had everyone singing along, and for the night owls, a lively DJ played all the top hits.<\/p>\n
