JAMA article on 10 minutes of walking

There was a recently published article in JAMA that reminds us of the importance of even small amounts of physical activity. The study found that even 10 minutes of walking can make a big difference in your health. That can mean making it a point to take the stairs or maybe it means putting on extra warm gloves and a scarf and getting outside for a few minutes every day.

Even though it is cold and blustery out, most of us can fit in 10 minutes to do something, be it walking, yoga, or a quick jog. These small micro-activities can help clear your head, increase your gratitude, and help you think through a knotty problem in your head.  There is the added benefit of maybe building our resilience and helping our energy level. Somehow activity helps us get unstuck in a variety of ways.
