Please join us tonight for an important discussion with Drs. Rostain and Fox on Recognizing and Helping Physicians in Crisis.
Approximately 400 physicians die each year by suicide. Although the general population faces concerns about stigma, lack of time and lack of access to care, physicians have the added burden of concerns regarding confidentiality, and fear of discrimination in licensing and applications for hospital privileges.
This presentation will increase your knowledge and enhance competence to:
-
- Describe multiple risk factors for physician suicide
- Discuss ways of identifying physicians in crisis
- Delineate key principles of reducing suicide risk
- Outline resources specific to Cooper in terms of identifying and managing physicians that are struggling in the health system.
