For the fifth straight year, Cooper University Hospital has received a Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corporation (NRC). The 2009/2010 award identifies hospitals which healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in the country.
Each year, the National Research Corporation surveys 250,000 homes nationally to identify the nation’s top hospitals. The award is based on the regional consumer responses in four categories: best doctors, best nurses, best image and reputation and best overall quality of care.
“We live in a consumer-driven healthcare community and Cooper works tirelessly to make sure the needs of our patients are not only being met, but are exceeded,” said George E. Norcross, III, Chairman, Board of Trustees at Cooper. “As the premier provider of healthcare services in our region, this award is a reflection of the highest caliber of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals that dedicate themselves to each and every patient throughout Cooper.”
“Cooper University Hospital continues to provide the region with the highest quality of care and is committed to customer satisfaction,” said John P. Sheridan, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer at Cooper. “Receiving the Consumer Choice Award for the fifth straight year demonstrates to us that our efforts focused on quality patient care are succeeding.”
Other prestigious hospitals that Cooper is recognized with throughout the country in this same category include Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA; The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH; Mayo Clinic, Saint Paul, MN; and Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, MD. This is the fourteenth year NRC has recognized hospitals with the prestigious Consumer Choice Awards.
