On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, the Make-Up Bar, a full service salon located in Cherry Hill, NJ, hosted a special fundraising event to benefit Cooper Cancer Institute’s Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine Program. All of the proceeds, a total of $2118.00, from the day-long event, will go directly to the Cooper Cancer Program. Services included hair styling, make-up application, eyebrow shaping, manicures and pedicures.
The Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine at Cooper Cancer Institute program provides cancer survivors with access to complementary medicine programs such as yoga, massage, meditation, body movement classes, art and music therapy and much more. The programs help reduce pain, lessen anxiety, alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy and other traditional cancer treatments, promote a sense of well-being and improve overall health. All therapies and programs offered through the Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine program are available at no cost and are open to all cancer patients and their caregivers, regardless of where they receive their treatment.
