Cooper’s Third Annual Resident/Fellow Forum on October 13 drew residents and fellows representing 13 programs.
Information tables were provided by the GMEC, Sim Lab, CIRT, Pastoral Care, Life Support, Planetree/Patient Centered Care, HR/EAP, Research Institute, Patient Safety, Documentation and Coding, and Health Information Management. Free fu shots also were provided.
The formal program included an introduction of Executive Management; comments by John P. Sheridan, Jr., President and CEO; and an update on the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, by Paul Katz, MD, Dean. Also, VP of Facilities and Support Services John T. Schwarz outlined plans for the continuing campus expansion and the new resident and medical staff lounges scheduled for completion in the frst quarter of 2011. Christine Messina-Boyer, Director of Patient and Family Centered Care, explained Cooper’s Press Ganey satisfaction scores. Attending Physician Antoinette Spevetz, MD, concluded the program with highlights
of the proposed changes to the ACGME Duty Hour Policy, which will be implemented in July 2011.
A light dinner buffet and dessert were provided by Cooper’s Food & Nutrition Department. Chef Jeff Klova prepared a creative menu featuring Mediterranean favorites.
