On Tuesday, March 20th, nearly 100 school nurses, coaches and athletic trainers from across the Delaware Valley joined Cooper in Schools at The Westin in Mount Laurel for their third annual Continuing Education Symposium “Stronger Children, Stronger Communities.”
Attendees learned from featured speakers throughout the day-long symposium including leading Cooper physicians and health care professionals, each an expert in his or her field, discussing a variety of topics including:
- Bullying – The “Shark” Versus the “Shark Meat”
- Sprains and Strains
- Melanoma Prevention in Children
- Genes, Traits and Proteins – Understanding Sickle Cell Disease
- Asthma – Controlling the Disease and the Environment
- Diabetes – Signs and Symptoms
- Concussion Updates
They also had the opportunity to visit 13 vendor booths and network with each other as well as Cooper staff.
