Attendees at Cooper Cancer Institute’s Annual Survivors Day Event Enjoy the Red Carpet Treatment

On Saturday, June 9, Cooper Cancer Institute (CCI) celebrated National Cancer Survivors Day with its Red Carpet-themed event at the Cooper – Voorhees campus.  More than 600 cancer survivors along with their family and friends came out for the event staffed.

More than 75 Cooper volunteers wearing “tuxedos” Cooper employees staffed the registration desk, coordinated activities, and served refreshments to the attendees.

Survivors and their guests walked the red carpet into the tent while volunteer paparazzi snapped commemorative photos with “celebrities.”  Attendees enjoyed a light lunch, ice cream sundaes and other refreshments while listening to remarks from CCI physicians and CCI cancer survivor Robert McCleish.  Attendees also enjoyed “A-List” style pampering by volunteers from the Rizzieri Aveda School with hand massages and make up applications and had a chance to win one of the many raffle prize baskets donated by local businesses and friends of Cooper Cancer Institute.
