A Night at the Sixers!

Local realtor Anne Koons, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox and Roach, Realtors, created an unforgettable night on November 13, 2013, for 15 kids in grades kindergarten through three from the Lanning Square neighborhood in Camden and their families. She treated the kids, all of whom participated in the Cooper Learning Center’s Summer Reading Program, to a limousine ride and tickets to the Philadelphia 76ers game.

The Cooper Learning Center, part of Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper, has offered the six-week remedial reading program for the past eight years at no cost to participating families. The goal of the reading program, primarily sponsored by The Cooper Foundation through support from Ms. Koons, is to target and improve children’s reading skills early, to prevent future educational difficulties.

The children and their families even made the evening news, as Dann Cuellar from 6ABC interviewed them about the camp and the special night, and even filmed them at the game. A great time was had by all!
