Cooper Employees Fan Out Across Camden, South Jersey for Day of Service

From 2017: Mothers Matter donation to Cooper.

WHAT: More than 90 doctors, nurses, administrative leaders, and allied health professionals from Cooper University Health Care will fan out across eight different sites in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester counties for a day of community service. Cooper employees will work in community gardens, prepare meals at the Cathedral Kitchen, help out at an animal shelter, and organize donations at a food pantry among others.

Cooper Sprouts Community Garden (Cooper Lanning Civic Association) – CAMDEN

The Cooper Sprouts Community Garden was established by our local civic association in partnership with The Cooper Foundation. Volunteers will help with garden clean up, weeding, and similar activities.

Location: Cooper Plaza Neighborhood – 7th Street & Newton Avenue, Camden, NJ
Time: 9 a.m. to noon

Camden Children’s GardenCAMDEN

The Camden Children’s Garden is a special place for children and families to explore and discover the natural world. Volunteers will work in the outdoor garden.

Location: Camden Waterfront – 3 Riverside Drive, Camden, NJ 08103
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Food Pantry of Cherry Hill – CHERRY HILL

The Cherry Hill Food Pantry is dedicated to supplying groceries to needy individuals and families in Cherry Hill and surrounding communities. Volunteers will unpack and organize items, as well as help clients shop in the pantry.

Time: 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Cherry Hill Library – CHERRY HILL

The Cherry Hill Public Library is a place for all ages to learn, explore, create, and relax. Volunteers will assist with the promotion of the library’s summer reading programs, stock and organize book collections, and assist with outdoor clean-up.

Voorhees Animal Orphanage – VOORHEES

Voorhees Animal Orphanage is a community shelter and adoption center in Camden County that finds permanent new homes for unclaimed animals. Volunteers will clean and organize sheds and storage buildings.

All Things Possible Foundation – WILLINGBORO

All Things Possible Foundation, located in Willingboro, offers a variety of developmental programs for children, with emphasis on academics, athletics, awareness, and arts. Volunteers will spend time with students attending a summer camp as they work on activities and art projects.

Cathedral Kitchen – CAMDEN  

Cathedral Kitchen is the largest emergency food provider in Camden, serving more than 100,000 meals a year to the poor and hungry. Volunteers will slice and dice in the kitchen, make sandwiches for guests, and organize the pantry.

Mothers Matter – WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – SEWELL

Mothers Matter is dedicated to helping mothers. Several times a year, they deliver comfort bags to patients at local hospitals and organizations. Volunteers will stuff and organize gift bags that will be distributed to Cooper patients, and other facilities and agencies.
