Subaru and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Deliver ‘Gestures of Hope’ to Cancer Patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper

Dr. Generosa Grana and members of the MD Anderson at Cooper staff welcomed representatives from Subaru and LLS.

Scott Ponzetti was among those patients who received blankets and notes of encouragement.

Representatives from Subaru of America’s corporate headquarters and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) delivered messages of hope and 80 specially made blankets to inpatients at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper to help encourage them in their fight against cancer.

“This is such a generous and kind gesture from our friends from Subaru of America, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,” said Generosa Grana, MD, director of MD Anderson at Cooper. “The blankets and the notes of encouragement will mean a lot to our patients – just as it does to us. Thank you so much for thinking of us and for your commitment to helping cancer patients.”

The event was part of an initiative by Subaru of America and LLS to provide much needed support and “warmth” to cancer patients and their families in communities across the country. Throughout the summer, visitors to participating Subaru retailers wrote messages of hope for cancer patients as part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative.

In addition to a blanket, each patient also received a handwritten message of hope.

More than 80 blankets were donated to cancer patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
