More than 350 Veterans and Their Families Attend “FallFest” Event Aboard Battleship NJ

On Saturday, October 19, 2019, more than 350 veterans, active military, first responders, and their families gathered on the deck of the historic Battleship New Jersey on the Camden Waterfront for a “Veterans FallFest” event hosted by Cooper University Health Care and Deborah Heart and Lung Center as part of the organizations’ joint HeroCare Connect program.

The free event featured health screenings and numerous educational, vocational, health, and informational tables to connect veterans to important community services. Special guests included Congressmen Donald Norcross (NJ-01) and Andy Kim (NJ-03), as well as a broadcast of the WIBG “Welcome Home Show” with radio host Joe Griffies.


Learn more about HeroCare Connect, a personal, one-stop resource that links military families, active duty and retired military, and veterans with specialty care services close to home and on a timely basis. The unique initiative provides convenient and expedited access to specialty care for military patients stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and veterans across South Jersey, supplementing the primary, gynecologic, and pediatric care available on base.
