Cooper University Health Care Selected as One of America’s Best Employers by Forbes

Cooper University Health Care has been named as one of America’s Best Employers by Forbes, one the nation’s leading business publications. Cooper was one of only 30 companies in New Jersey to make the Forbes list.

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile the final list of 1,330 companies nationwide, divided into 51 rankings, one for each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. The list was compiled by surveying 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. Surveys were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2020 to June 2021 and were anonymous, which allowed participants to freely share their opinions.

Cooper is one of the largest employers in Camden County with 8,500 employees and receives more than 1.6 million patient visits each year. Cooper has active patients from all 50 states and more than 35 countries.  Of note, in 2019, Cooper was the first health system in the state to implement a $15 an hour minimum wage, serving as the catalyst for other health systems in the region to follow suit.
