Special Delivery for Patients to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Team members from Cooper’s Labor and Delivery Unit picked up gift bags for new moms delivering at Cooper over Mother’s Day weekend. Mothers Matter volunteers were on hand to assist with the delivery.

Cooper University Health Care is grateful once again to the The Lauren Rose Albert Foundation/ Mothers Matter Program for bringing cheer to mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers of patients undergoing treatment at Cooper with a special delivery of gift baskets on Friday, May 6 — just in time for Mother’s Day.

The gift bags came with a special message to mothers.

Since 2001, the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation has reached out to mothers-in-need by donating thousands of gift baskets overflowing with personal health and beauty care products to numerous health care facilities, women’s shelters and crisis programs, child care centers, and facilities such as Ronald McDonald House and the Memorial Veterans Home during the week of Mother’s Day. This year 125 baskets were provided to Cooper for cancer patients, moms of pediatric and NICU patients, new moms, trauma patient family members, and others who find themselves at the hospital on Mother’s Day.

In addition to their traditional Mother’s Day gifts, Mothers Matter volunteers assemble and deliver thousands of personal gift bags throughout the year to women-in-need.   Girl Scout troops, businesses, schools, community organizations and agencies participate through Mothers Matter collection drives, contributions, and volunteer support. Since its inception Mothers Matter volunteers assembled and delivered more than 50,000 Mothers Matter gift bags/baskets to day care centers, women’s shelters and safe houses, pediatric medical day-care facilities, women’s agencies, hospitals, and other facilities that serve the needs of women.  Each gift bears the message that “Mothers Matter.”
