Dr. Generosa Grana, director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper,  celebrates cancer survivors at 12th Annual Pink Roses Teal Magnolias event.

More than 200 guests attended The Cooper Foundation’s 12th annual Pink Roses Teal Magnolias celebration of cancer survivorship held on June 5. Held on National Cancer Survivors Day – a day to honor cancer survivors, no matter where they are in their journey – the event provided inspiration while raising funds for programs and services at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

“We are touched by the inspirational stories and courage of our patients and are grateful to generous donors whose support allows us to provide a full spectrum of services from diagnosis to treatment to research in our quest to fight cancer,” said Philip A. Norcross, Esq., chairman of The Cooper Foundation.

The event featured an awards ceremony, honoring the 2022 Pink & Teal Heroes: Michele Fantazzio, MD; Diane Gillum, MD; and Kay Yoon-Flannery, DO, breast surgeons at MD Anderson at Cooper’s Janet Knowles Breast Cancer Center, for their efforts in the fight against cancer.

“We are proud to honor these dedicated physicians who give their all to each and every patient, providing support and guidance throughout every step of a patient’s cancer journey,” said Generosa Grana, MD, director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

The Janet Knowles Breast Cancer Center is South Jersey’s largest and most experienced breast cancer team offering a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care under the care of an entire team of breast cancer experts. The breast surgeons at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper offer a full range of advanced, innovative surgical techniques and procedures.  They work closely with breast oncologists, radiation oncologists, reconstructive surgeons, breast imaging experts, pathologists and other members of MD Anderson at Cooper’s breast cancer team, to provide each patient with collaborative, coordinated, and compassionate care.

Since its inception, the Pink and Teal event has raised more than $7 million dollars to support research, the Patient In Need Fund, new technologies, the Survivorship Program, and other services at MD Anderson at Cooper.
