Cooper University Health Care’s New Moorestown Campus Opens

(MOORESTOWN, NJ) On November 29, 2023, Cooper University Health Care opened the first phase of its newest and largest outpatient campus at the Moorestown Mall.

The 166,000-square-foot, three-story facility, converted from a former Sears department store that sat empty since 2020, has been transformed into a state-of-the-art outpatient campus. The Cooper Moorestown Campus offers patients more than 26 medical specialties, a range of diagnostic services, nearly 100 exam rooms, concierge services, a café, and other patient amenities. The facility is accessible from a main entrance facing Route 38 and an interior entrance from inside the Moorestown Mall.

“Since its founding more than 135 years ago, Cooper has always been committed to providing the best care to its community. This announcement demonstrates how we are expanding access to Cooper’s outstanding care so that every member of our community can obtain the services they need when they need them in the most convenient way,” said George E. Norcross III, chair of Cooper’s Board of Trustees.

“The demand for access to Cooper’s expert clinical care teams has never been stronger. This state-of-the-art facility, one of the largest outpatient locations in the tri-state area, will enable Cooper to meet this demand. While patients travel from all 50 states and more than 35 countries to receive their care at Cooper, we are proud to expand access closer to where many Cooper patients live and work,” said Kevin O’Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper.

During the first phase opening, patients can schedule appointments for primary care and the following specialties: bariatric surgery, cardiopulmonary diagnostic services, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious diseases, maternal-fetal medicine, nephrology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics/musculoskeletal services, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, plastic surgery, podiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, thoracic surgery, urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery, and vascular surgery.

Specialists from MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper include breast surgeons, gynecologic oncologists, and hematologists and medical oncologists. Cardiologists with Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care will also see patients at the Moorestown Campus. All these specialties will be supported by laboratory services, pre-admission testing, and other support services.

“We’ve worked hard to create an extraordinary patient experience on the Moorestown Campus that will match the excellent level of care they receive from our clinical teams,” said Anthony Mazzarelli, MD, JD MBE, co-CEO of Cooper. “We are thankful that so many patients from across the region and beyond continue to place their trust in Cooper for their health care needs, allowing us to expand and offer services to more residents.”

The remainder of the new facility is slated to open during the first quarter of 2024. Once complete, additional services will include physical therapy, radiology, infusion services, radiation therapy, an outpatient surgery center, and Cooper and Inspira Neurosciences.
