Cooper University Health Care is proud to announce that Ian Griffiths, RN, BSN, a dedicated clinical nurse manager on a medical-surgical floor at Cooper University Hospital, has been honored as the 2025 Vizient/AACN Nurse Resident of the Year. This prestigious national award recognizes Griffiths’ exceptional leadership, commitment to patient care, and outstanding contributions to the nursing profession.
Throughout his residency, Griffiths demonstrated unwavering dedication to excellence, compassionate care, and advocacy for both his patients and colleagues. His leadership and innovative approach to nursing have had a lasting impact, setting a high standard for nurse residents across the country.
The Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ (NRP) was established by Vizient and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to support newly licensed nurses as they transition into their professional roles. Since its inception in 2002, the program has played a critical role in preparing and retaining nurses in the field. Backed by research and industry expertise, the NRP enhances nursing education and fosters professional development through mentorship, clinical reflection, and interprofessional collaboration.
Griffiths’ recognition underscores the vital role of nurse residency programs in shaping the future of nursing. His contributions not only strengthen the profession but also inspire fellow nurse residents to pursue excellence and compassionate care in their careers.
