Climbs Three Spots in New Jersey, Reinforcing Its Position Among the State’s Leading Hospitals
(Camden, NJ) – Cooper University Hospital has been ranked the #4 hospital in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings. The rankings released today, mark a significant rise from last year’s #7 ranking and reinforce Cooper’s University Health Care’s position as one of the state’s leading academic health systems. Cooper was also ranked #8 among the top hospitals in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
In addition to its statewide and regional rankings, Cooper earned High Performing ratings—the highest designation awarded by U.S. News—in 11 adult specialties:

- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Colon cancer surgery
- Gynecological cancer surgery
- Heart arrhythmia
- Heart bypass surgery
- Heart failure
- Leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma
- Pneumonia
- Prostate cancer surgery
- Stroke
In December 2025, U.S. News also rated Cooper as High Performing in Maternity Care for 2026 and designated it as a Maternity Care Access Hospital.

Now in its 37th year, the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings evaluate more than 4,400 hospitals nationwide to help patients make informed decisions about their care.
