UPDATED 4/20/21: The COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center located in East Camden has been postponed.  Watch for more information regarding a new date.

In lieu of the in-person Town Hall event, the public is invited to watch a live-streamed COVID-19 Vaccine question and answer session at the originally scheduled date/time with Cooper physician Camille A. Henry, MD on the Salvation Army Kroc Center Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CamdenKroc.

As part of Cooper University Health Care’s ongoing COVID-19 vaccine education initiative, Camden residents are invited to attend a free COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center located in East Camden.

Earlier this year, Cooper opened the first-of-its-kind neighborhood Vaccination and Education Center at the Kroc Center, which includes a strong education component to answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine for city residents.

“As one of the hardest hit communities in Camden County during the COVID-19 pandemic, our goal is to provide education and remove any barriers that might prevent Camden residents’ from making informed decisions about getting the vaccine,” said Kevin O’Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper.

“We see our job as providing those we serve with trustworthy information so they can make an educated decision on whether to get the COVID-19 vaccine, and having physicians available to answer their questions face-to-face helps to build that trust,” said Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, co-CEO of Cooper.

Presenters at the Town Hall include Cooper physicians Camille A. Henry, MD, and Juan Utreras, MD, and Evelyn Robles-Rodriguez, APN, director of outreach, prevention and cancer survivorship at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.  All three will provide education about COVID-19 vaccinations, dispel myths, and answer questions from the community.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign-up for appointments for the COVID-19 vaccination at the Town Hall. The Kroc Center is located at 1865 Harrison Avenue in Camden. The program is free and light refreshments will be served, but space is limited to allow for physical distancing. To register, call 856.382.6685.
