Celebrating National Respiratory Care Week

Cooper University Health Care is proud to recognize National Respiratory Care Week from October 24 through October 30, 2021.  This has been another challenging year for respiratory therapists (RTs) as they have played a critical role throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout the pandemic, RT teams around the country learned that because COVID-19 primarily affects a patient’s respiratory functions, placing critical COVID-19 positive patients in a prone position (lying horizontally, face down) allows for better lung expansion and improved outcomes. The skill and expertise of RTs is integral to the success of this labor-intensive intervention, which has become a mainstay in the care of many COVID-19 patients.

At Cooper, our RTs have worked closely together to successfully care for thousands of patients throughout the pandemic.  Their resiliency, commitment, compassion, and skill make them a vital part of the Cooper team.

Thank you to our amazing RTs for the vital care you provide our patients!
