Keep on Truckin’: NJ Italian American Police Society Say ‘Thank You’ to Nurses at Cooper University Health Care with Unique Donation of Toy Trucks

Members of Cooper’s Patient Care Services leadership team met with representatives from New Jersey Italian American Police Society to accept the donation.

Members of the New Jersey Italian American Police Society visited Cooper University Health Care to pay tribute to nurses for their efforts throughout the pandemic by donating a supply of collectible toy Hess trucks. Nurses at Cooper will have a chance to win one of the trucks to give to a child in their life through a special giveaway.

“We want to thank the New Jersey Italian American Police Society for thinking of Cooper with this special gift. We also recognize the significant contributions of law enforcement officers and thank them for their tireless efforts in keeping the public safe every day,” said Philip A. Norcross, Chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees.

“We are appreciative of this generous and creative donation,” said Robert A. Ortiz, Jr., J.D., senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer of The Cooper Foundation. “We know that these special toys will put smiles on the faces of many lucky children whose parents have worked long hours throughout the pandemic.”

The Italian American Police Society of New Jersey is a non-profit fraternal and professional organization comprised of law enforcement officers and individuals of Italian American ancestry from throughout New Jersey and the region.  The group’s mission is to serve the community through a number of charitable events and community service projects.

“We are continually amazed at the creative ways businesses and organizations have chosen to thank our staff throughout the pandemic. Cooper’s highly skilled and compassionate nurses give of themselves every day, and we thank the New Jersey Italian American Police Society for providing this donation that we can use as a fun way to recognize our staff,” said Kathy Devine, DrNP, NEA-BC, senior vice president and chief nursing executive at Cooper.
