Wash Your Hands. Save a Life: Hand Hygiene Week Begins July 25, 2016

Washing your hands is the most important thing you can do to prevent infections.

Per the CDC, regular hand washing, particularly before and after certain activities, is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs to others.

Infections that patients get in the hospital can be life threatening and hard to treat. Most germs that cause serious infections in health care are spread by the people who provide care. However, studies show that on average, health care providers clean their hands less than half of the times they should. This contributes to the spread of health care-associated infections that affect 1 in 25 hospital patients on any given day.

Join us this week, July 25 – 29, 2016, as we shine a spotlight on hand hygiene and work to let our patients know their safety and well-being come first!
