The Cooper Urological Institute now offers on-site shock wave lithotripsy for the treatment of kidney and ureteral stones and is the only facility in South Jersey that accepts Medicaid patients.
The non-invasive, outpatient procedure is completed in about an hour and is performed by board-certified and fellowship-trained urologists. Cooper’s equipment provides optimal access to stones of any size in any location and can perfectly match the energy focus to the size of the stone. Up to 3,000 ultrasonic shock waves are used during each treatment. Some patients may need more than one treatment.
Minimally invasive ureteroscopy (URS), percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) with Cyberwand™ technology and traditional open stone surgery are also available.
