Use of CME stipend for purchase of electronic hardware

Colleagues,

Effective Immediately, Cooper University Health Care is lifting the ban on Attending Physicians and APPs utilizing a portion of their stipend to subsidize the purchase of electronic hardware to enhance their clinical experience and their ability to deliver an enhanced patient care experience.  As long as the purchase can adequately demonstrate a business/educational need – ie: Research, Teaching, CME / Education etc, an Attending Physician or APP will have the ability to utilize up to $800 / year of their annual stipend for electronic hardware.

We have developed a streamlined, efficient, electronic approval process that must be utilized in order to participate in this program.  Over time, we will adjust and further optimize this program and the reimbursement process to improve the experience for all.

Please read the attached Memo and FAQ carefully.  Please note that if you are unsure about a purchase before filling out the form, feel free to work with your leadership to determine whether a purchase may be reimbursed or not. The Division of Medical Informatics and Care Delivery Innovation will work with physician leadership, APP leadership and you if you have any questions. If questions still remain after working with your program leadership, please send an email to cuhelechrdw@cooperhealth.edu.

Please follow the instructions outlined in the FAQ to minimize any delays in the reimbursement process.

We sincerely thank you for all that you do and hope that these changes reflect the positive changes that are taking place at Cooper relative to the physicians and APPs

I filled out and submitted a request for reimbursement for a new laptop last week and have not yet received a response. How do I check on the status?

Hello, I usually call the IT help desk but the onsite support staff for IT and where I get my Cooper laptops are on the first floor of Dorrance right around the corner from the Dorrance elevators. Calling the help desk 1007166 is probably the easiest place to start though! Best, Lisa
