CMSRU Story Slam

In anticipation of ACP’s Story Slam held annually at the College of Physicians, CMSRU will be hosting a Story Slam on Friday, Feb. 28 from Noon-1:30 p.m.

Story slams are gaining popularity at medical schools all over the country. Participants share 5 minute stories on a theme — no power point slides, no learning objectives, just a powerful story about a moving experience. CMSRU’s event will feature 6 or 7 storytellers who will provide compelling personal stories about experiences that have impacted them professionally and/or personally, with a focus on professionalism and humanism in medicine.

If you have short stories that you would like to share with the group and potentially in Philadelphia, please contact Mara Gordon, MD, assistant professor of Family Medicine and the director of the narrative medicine program in the Center or Humanism, who is helping to organize the event.
