Decluttering your email and other tech tips

Thanks to all those who attended our sessions on how to optimize your Outlook account! We also discussed some useful apps and programs that our speaker recommended. Here is a list of her tech tips based on the presentation. Enjoy decluttering your email!

On the PC, there are more features on the Online email platform through mail.cooperhealth.edu than through the Outlook Desktop icon/app (this despite the increased complexity of the latter).

All the recommendations in my slides are based on the online platform.  You can give both a try and google anything that you can’t immediately find how to do in the Desktop version.

Office 365 & Other Programs:

Even if you don’t preferentially use your CMSRU/Rowan email account, you can still take advantage of these features:

Unofficial recommendations:

  • Start using the suite and set an inbox Rule that Forwards ALL your emails to your CMSRU email. Periodically go in and double check that your emails are correctly fwd’ing.  After a while, you can change the Rule to say Forward, then Delete.
  • If you don’t want to just start using the whole suite from CMSRU, you can keep your email as is and just use the office suite on your computer as below.

Office365 & the OneDrive on your computer

Use your CMSRU email and ID to log into your computer at home & at work.  If you ever need to access the OneDrive not on one of those, you can log in through the CMSRU email portal.

Signing in this way enables you to access the files as if they are on your computer.  You will be able to send these files (regular, not cloud) using mail.cooperhealth.edu.  If you collaborate with someone from the same institutional email, you should be able to share as editable cloud format.
