Dr. Shenker first attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, eventually moving on to Rutgers University and then Thomas Jefferson University, where he received a Master of Science (MS) and Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) degree.
During his residency, Dr. Shenker trained at the Hunterdon Medical Center Family Practice in Flemington, NJ. There he found his niche working in family medicine and went on to complete a primary care clinical research fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University.
A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Shenker brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Cooper University Health Care where he currently serves as the health system’s Chief of Family Medicine.

Throughout his career Dr. Shenker has amassed numerous awards for his work in family medicine.
Most recently, he was a first-place poster-contest winner in the physician category at the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians Annual Family Medicine Forum in 2019. He was also granted a Faculty of the Year Award from the Robert Wood Johnson Family Medicine Residency at CentraState Medical Center in 2019, and previously, he had earned this honor in 2010, 2012, and 2015.
