On Tuesday, February 11, 2020, Dr. Dana McCloskey and Dr. Huan Wang with Cooper’s General Surgery Residency Program were among 15 residents, representing all Philadelphia area surgical residencies, presenting papers at the annual resident paper competition at the Philadelphia Academy of Surgery, the oldest surgical organization in the country.
Dr. McCloskey presented ‘Human Adipose Derived Stem Cells Increase Collagen Deposition and Granulation, Improving Healing in a Rat Model of Esophageal Injury with Stent Placement’. Dr. Wang presented ‘The Effect of Adipose-derived mesenchymal Stem Cells Delivered in Fibrin Glue on the Early Phase of Colon Anastomotic Healing in Rats’.
Kudos to both residents on their presentations, and special congratulations to Dr. Wang, who took the award for second place in this resident competition.
