On March 20, 2020, at 1 p.m., the 2020/2021 NRMP results were announced. Cooper University Hospital received excellent results, matching 100% of its positions!
Additionally, this is the fifth year students from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University participated in the Match. The following message was shared by Annette C. Reboli, MD, Dean and Professor of Medicine:
“Dear CMSRU community:
Today at noon EST, the Cooper Medical School (CMSRU) Class of 2020 experienced one of the most memorable moments in their careers. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, students opened personalized emails today containing their residency matches. A culmination of four years of hard work, Match Day sets the course for their future as physicians.
I am proud to report that 100 percent of CMSRU’s Class of 2020 has Matched! Thirty-six of the 79 students (46 percent) will be entering training programs that prepare residents in primary care medicine: 23 will begin internal or family medicine residencies; 8 will specialize in pediatrics; and five will go into obstetrics and gynecology. We also had students match in some of the most competitive specialties, including ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dermatology, orthopedic surgery, urology, radiation oncology, and integrated interventional radiology.
CMSRU students matched at a range of esteemed programs across the country, including Boston University, Brown, Cornell, Emory, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Jefferson/DuPont, Penn State – Hershey, University of Alabama – Birmingham, University of Rochester, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Yale.”
We wish everyone every success in their graduate medical education program, and can’t wait to meet our newest residents in June!
