Hello Cooper Residents,
We would like to cordially invite all those interested to the Cooper University Hospital Resident Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council First Annual Mixer!
In brief, the Cooper Resident Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) council was founded by residents at Cooper in the Spring of 2020 in response to the national outcry regarding the murder of George Floyd. We saw this as an opportunity to come together as a community of underrepresented minority physicians AND allies to begin to address issues that we and the community we serve in Camden face. Underrepresented minority physicians include, but are not limited to, Black/African-American, Hispanic, Native American, and LGBTQ physicians.
The event is opened to ALL RESIDENTS AND FELLOWS interested furthering a supportive environment for underrepresented minority physicians and promoting education about anti-racism and anti-discrimination in medicine.
The first step in us coming together is finally MEETING IN PERSON! We would love to do this in a social and informal setting outside of the hospital.
The mixer is being held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Camden Waterfront on Thursday, September 9, 2021, 5-7 p.m., Water View Patio Lounge. The venue has a wide covering. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside in the inside bar area.

Beverages (guests’ own expense):
